Whompus is a distinctive force in Australia’s underground bass music scene, known for pushing sonic boundaries and crafting immersive journeys through deep, wobbly basslines, intricate melodic layers and dancefloor-driven rhythms. Drawing from a broad spectrum of influences, his sound moves from trance-like wonder into dark, swampy depths, where chaos, tension and joy collide.

Alongside his DJ work, Whompus has been steadily self-releasing his own productions, further developing a sound that blurs the boundaries between dancefloor energy and introspective experimentation.

He has performed at festivals and doofs including Dragon Dreaming, Subsonic, Esoteric, Art Valley, Basscamp, Origins of Entropy, Ipso Facto, Sub Terra, Initiation Festival, Antigravity and Wavecult’s Imbolc.

Whompus has supported international heavyweights including Dillinja, KOAN Sound, YOOKiE, Plastician, Mandidextrious, A Hundred Drums, Hypho and PAV4N, alongside appearances with UFO Club, Levitate, SUBjective Eora, SHOOK, Lowfreq, Resurrect and more.

A pivotal member of Newy Bass Crew, Whompus plays an integral role across curation, promotion, logistics and events, helping shape and strengthen underground bass culture in the Hunter and beyond.
