Mincy b2b Killjoy

MINCY:

Breakbeat. Jungle. Dubstep. Rave. Speed Garage. Grime. Left Field Bass. Groups of genres rarely become synonymous with a singular DJ, but in Australia, Mincy is a sharp, fierce representative of heavy, fast and bass focused underground dance music, not only as a DJ, but as a label head, producer and promoter. The Extra Spicy founder, Sydney/Eora based artist has an already flooding resumé that has seen her release on an array of local and international esteemed record labels.

On the production front, her sonic palette is driven into one subsection of dance music, defined by the feeling of unadulterated, rave euphoria. She’ll be kicking off 2023 with a four track EP titled The Mind Boggles on Shall Not Fade’s sister label Time Is Now, followed by another solo EP on rave-certified Bristol based Hardcore Energy. These are following on from a huge release schedule in 2022 which kicked off with the glitchy Sweet Treat EP on Extra Spicy, followed by a two track vinyl release on London label EC2A, as well a pair of collaborative EP’s with AK SPORTS and Killjoy. Cementing her place as one of the best up and comer producers, her remix of AK SPORTS – Flex was voted by DJ MAG as one of the Top 40 Tunes of 2022.

As her discography grows, Mincy’s becoming one of Australia’s most important tastemakers, renowned as the undisputed Queen of bass-driven music locally, a kingdom and empire that is fostered by community empowerment and representation. Her ferocity behind the decks has taken her to some of the biggest stages on offer, including the iconic London nightclub Fabric, Boomtown Festival, Lost Paradise, Output Festival, as well as an eight date European tour mid 2022. On top of that her 2023 is off to a flying start, having recently completed two New Zealand tours, a Japan tour and run of headline shows across Australia including Lost Sundays and Revolver.

With plenty of room left to give back to the world of global underground dance music, Mincy’s is well and truly developing a legacy that deserves to be honoured.

KILLJOY:

Instrumental in the formation and the rise of Tumble Audio both as a label and as a club brand, Killjoy is notorious for his extensive catalogue of unreleased material and high-octane sets all over the UK & Europe – including notable appearances at legendary Fabric in London – Killjoys sound needs little introduction.

His primary business is the crafting of tough, UK bass workouts that nod to the bassline and speed garage of yesteryear though, building on the hard edged UK funky vibes championed by Champion and his Formula Records imprint, Killjoy steadily garners accolades by the dozen. His releases & and exclusives have received support from heavy hitters across the board from Slimzee, TQD. and Skream to Scratcha DVA, Caspa, Zomby, Interplanetary Criminal and plenty more.

His numerous collaborations & remixes MCs most notably D Double E whos UK Funky/Grime anthem Like This remains a mainstay in the scene today, but also Jammz, Slick Don, Killa P, Shantie, Magugu, Champion and Hannah Wants & Lorenzo all demonstrate his sheer versatility as a producer each of his productions has a unique and original feel, while still retaining his trademark sound. This is a trait always at the forefront of his live mixes, fast paced and exciting, dropping dub after dub and mixing smoothly between 130-160 bpm.
