Acid Safari
Acid Safari is a nobody and, at the same time, one of the references for Techno around Melbourne for well over a decade.
Anyone cares where is he from, if he played his dad’s collection or if he discovered Techno in the early 90s? Or what events has he played before? The reality is you are just as good as your last gig, and most of those that attended Acid Safari’s last set will probably tell you it was mad.
Acid Safari has been a resident at Revolver Upstairs (AU) for over 10-15 years, seeing trends come and go and new generations entering the club scene. His versatility has made him support a wide variety of acts, and by that, we mean warming up or closing down shows after the likes of Richie Hawtin, Radio Slave, Slam and Francois K.
He performs at some of the toughest techno parties in Melbourne, resides and has resided at some of the best clubs in the world for years, plays at outdoor festivals in front of thousands of people or ambient sets to a few dozens, runs a weekly radio show at Kiss FM Australia called Radio Bueno, plays pop and retro sets at The Espy, one of the best commercial venues in Australia and on the same weekend techno at illegal raves in abandon factories.
